Until recently, I haven't really considered myself a writer. I don't usually write, because I don't have anyone to write for. It's funny, because although I am a self-conscious writer I love writing for an audience. Perhaps the reason I havent been writing much is because I havent had an audience? This brings me to the idea of this public writing in a privatized world....and I've come to the conclusion that it is my turn to step into this world of publishing....and I'm excited!
In the past few weeks I've been less than motivated/inspired. As the semester comes to an end, I am simply getting through each day. Although I know my students are benefitting from class in some way/shape/form,I know that I am not teaching to my full potential. UNCCWP couldn't have come along at a better time! There is no better inspiration than discuss, reflect, and research with other teachers. I feel refreshed and renewed when I meet with other people who are as committed to teaching and learning as I am. I want to track my experiences, reflect on my practices, and spend some time to really think...and therefore, learn...
Through this experience of public writing, I am super pumped to see what kinds of disasters and master-pieces surface :)
